3. Setup an API User in Datto Autotask PSA

To integrate with Datto Autotask PSA, a resource with the type Wise-Sync specific API User needs to be configured in Datto Autotask PSA.

What's an API User?

A Datto Autotask PSA Resource with the Security Level of API User provides credentials to applications, such as Wise-Sync, so that they can interact with Datto Autotask PSA's API.

What do I need to do?

Follow the steps below to configure Datto Autotask PSA.

Only one API User is required

Wise-Sync only requires one API User to be configured in your Datto Autotask PSA environment. This type of Resource isn't able to log into Datto Autotask PSA via their interface, its purpose is to provide access to their API.

Store your API User Credentials securely

It's strongly recommended that you store your API User credentials in a password management tool. Password management tools securely store usernames and passwords for you to recall anytime you need it.

  1. In Datto Autotask PSA, go to Admin > Resources (Users)
  2. Create a new Resource and set properties in the tabs specified below.

    General
    First NameWise-Sync
    Last NameAPI User
    Email Addresswisesync@yourdomain.com
    Security
    Username

    wisesyncapi

    Take note of this username, you will need it to configure Wise-Sync.

    Password

    Create a secure password and store it in your password manager

    Take note of this password, you will need it to configure Wise-Sync.

    Select Integration Vendor. From the drop down, select Wise-Sync.

    Select any role

  3. Save the Resource
